The Trick to the Wavelength
We stepped away from those generic IR lamps you see everywhere. Our team spent a lot of time figuring out exactly which wavelength lead-free solder actually likes. By tweaking the filament and the thickness of the quartz, we shifted the output toward short-wave IR. Here is why that matters: it stops that annoying “heat soak.” You know that feeling when the entire board gets scorching hot, but the joint you’re actually targeting is still stuck? Yeah, we fixed that. The energy goes straight to the solder, leaving the rest of the board alone.
The Hardware Side of Things
We kept these units small because we know your workbench is already crowded. We used high-purity quartz tubes so they can handle the stress of heating up and cooling down a hundred times a day without cracking. We also beefed up the connectors because nothing kills a workflow faster than a burnt-out plug during a high-current draw. The ramp-up is fast. Really fast. But a word of caution: since the energy is so concentrated, you have to be careful with your distance sensors. If the lamp is too close, you’ll blister the solder mask. Just give it a little breathing room and you’re golden.
Putting it to Work
