The Healthcare Carbon Infrared Electric Grill Heating Element
We built this heating element for one simple reason: to give you serious, direct heat—without the drama of an open flame. It’s the kind of heat that comes on fast, stays clean, and lets you keep things exact, especially in places where control matters. Think medical settings. Think patient meal lines and warming stations where consistency and sanitation can’t be negotiated. This element brings the heat, but it does it in a way that feels calm and predictable.
Power, Voltage, and Size—Straight Talk
Here’s the heart of it: a resistive carbon filament sits inside a sealed quartz tube. We usually rate these at 400V, which means you can run them on higher-voltage industrial supplies. The payoff? Lower current draw, and you don’t have to oversize your wiring like you often do with 230V units. Wattage is matched to what the grill actually needs—often around 2500W. And the tube length? Typically 300mm. That gives you a clear radiant footprint, so you can hit the heated zone cleanly without building something bigger than it needs to be.
What It’s Made Of—And Why It Matters
The quartz envelope handles rapid heating and cooling without complaining, and it stays highly transparent in the infrared range. That matters because the heat goes where you want it. We add a reflective coating on the outside to push more energy forward. More usable heat at the target. Less wasted heat going sideways. And for hooking it up? It comes with an R7s connector—standard, double-ended, and easy to drop right into most grill housings. If your setup needs something different, we can spec SK15 or other pins to match your socket and spacing.
What It Feels Like in Real Use
In healthcare foodservice, this element shines where you need grilling that’s sanitary and dependable. The carbon filament heats up quickly, and the infrared output hits the food surface hard—so you get even searing with fast response. You feel that speed when you’re moving through a steady stream of meals. Now, the trade-off: high power density means you do need good airflow and smart heat management inside the chassis. So we size the element to your grill footprint, keeping performance consistent while protecting nearby parts from getting cooked by proximity.
