Introduction
We built these carbon fiber infrared heat lamps for one reason: to dry tobacco right. The kind of heat that gets right to the leaf—fast, direct, and easy to control—without burning a single strand. It’s intense, shortwave radiation that pushes moisture out quickly, so your drying stays steady even when the line is moving.
Power, Voltage, and Size: All in a Small Package
Here’s the thing: these lamps are all about power density. A typical unit runs at 400V and 2500W, packing a lot of heat into a short tube—usually around 300mm long. That means you get serious output in a tight spot, without having to tear apart your whole oven. Because it’s shortwave, it responds fast. The element heats up almost instantly, so you can dial the heat up and down to match the belt and the moisture load. But there’s a trade-off. That intensity also raises the temperature around the lamp. So your machine needs proper cooling and airflow to keep everything running smooth.
Materials and Design: Built to Take the Heat
The carbon fiber element keeps resistance stable, even when temperatures swing. And it handles the kind of hot spots that can kill other wire-wound elements. We wrap it in a quartz envelope because it handles sudden temperature changes and lets the infrared energy through cleanly. For connections, we use R7s connectors. They’re simple to wire, hold alignment, and stay solid even when your equipment is vibrating on the line.
Why Tobacco Drying Loves This Approach
Tobacco drying needs a heat that hits hard—then backs off just as fast. That’s exactly what these carbon fiber infrared lamps do. The quick response and predictable output make drying more repeatable from batch to batch. You get less variation in moisture, and fewer rejects. And they’re designed to drop straight in as replacements for standard industrial heater setups. They fit neatly into existing conveyors and ovens, delivering the heat density you need for high-throughput tobacco processing. Just keep this in mind: with that much wattage packed into a short tube, your fixture and cooling have to be matched to the job.
