Introduction
We built a carbon fiber infrared heat lamp with one goal: to keep pigs warm where it matters most. It shines focused heat right onto piglets and sows, skipping the air and warming the animals directly. That means a steady, comfortable zone at floor level. And because the heat goes where it’s needed, you use less energy.
Technical Deep-Dive
Here’s the setup: our standard unit runs on 400V and packs 2500W of power into a compact 300mm tube. High voltage lets us pack more heat into a smaller space, so you get serious warmth without needing bulky wiring. The shortwave infrared cuts right through bedding and gaps, delivering heat straight to the animal.
Material & Design
Inside, you’ve got a carbon fiber filament inside a quartz envelope. A halogen cycle keeps the element clean and steady, so the output stays consistent over long stretches—even with frequent on/off cycles. And the R7s double-ended connector? It’s a secure, quick-fit mount that holds the tube tight. Swapping it in feels like a simple drop-in replacement in the fixtures you already have.
Application & Benefits
In the farrowing house, this lamp heats up fast and gives you precise control. You can dial in the right temperature, and the piglets feel it right away. The build is tough—it takes moisture and dust in stride. But with that kind of heat density, good ventilation matters. Plan your airflow and cooling so the immediate area stays comfortable and doesn’t run hot.
