A Better Way to Cure Your Ink: Carbon Fiber Heating

If you’ve spent any time around a screen printing press, you know the struggle of getting the ink to cure just right. You don’t want it tacky, but you definitely don’t want to scorch your fabric. That’s why we built these 360mm, 1000W heating tubes. Instead of the usual quartz lamps, we use carbon fiber filaments. Here is why that actually matters: they put out far-infrared (FIR) radiation. This stuff doesn’t just sit on the surface; it sinks deep into the ink layers. You get a full cure through and through, without ruining the material underneath. The Power Stuff We packed 1000W into a 360mm frame because industrial conveyors don’t wait around. You need to hit your target temperatures fast. Plus, it gives you a consistent heat profile across the whole screen. No more annoying “cold spots” where the ink stays wet while the rest of the shirt is toasted. It’s just more efficient than relying on hot air. Why Carbon Fiber? Metal coils have a habit of sagging or snapping after they’ve been heated and cooled a thousand times. Carbon fiber doesn’t do that. It handles the stress way better. We also wrapped the filament in a specialized quartz envelope. You flip the switch, and you’re ready to go in seconds. A Few Things to Keep in Mind These are designed to drop right into most standard dryer banks, so the swap is pretty easy. But, a word of caution: 1000W in such a small space creates a lot of radiant heat.**Make sure your housing is well-ventilated.**If your fans are old or underpowered, your electronics might start to sweat. Also, double-check your wiring gauge. You want to make sure it can handle the load so you aren’t losing power before it even hits the tube.
